Seeking a warm and welcoming Florida retreat, this retired couple envisioned a second home where their children and grandchildren could gather throughout the winter months and create lasting family memories. Significantly larger than their residence in Latham, New York, the home was designed to accommodate both large-scale entertaining and everyday family living.

While the formal living and dining rooms provide elegant spaces for hosting, the true heart of the home is the kitchen, family room, and expansive lanai. With Florida's year-round sunshine and relaxed lifestyle, these spaces naturally became the hub of activity, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor living. Having traveled extensively, the homeowners wanted to incorporate many of the meaningful pieces they had collected over the years while creating a fresher, lighter aesthetic with less visual clutter. The design focused on comfortable, functional seating and flexible gathering spaces that support the way they entertain and spend time with family.

Large sliding doors in both the living room and family room open directly to the lanai, creating effortless access to the pool, outdoor kitchen, and multiple lounging areas. The result is a sophisticated yet relaxed resort-style home that reflects the homeowners' personalities, celebrates their treasured collections, and provides the perfect backdrop for family gatherings for years to come.

The primary suite, located just off the living room, offers a private retreat while maintaining a strong connection to the home's open and inviting layout.
