B&L Renovations
Designed as a sophisticated alternative to the local downtown bar scene, this once-overlooked basement was reimagined as a moody, speakeasy-inspired retreat for entertaining and unwinding. At the heart of the design, a pair of rotating walnut walls reveal custom wine storage on one side and tailored bookcases on the other, creating a moment of unexpected delight. As the project evolved, so did the palette, settling into rich moody greens, warm saddle browns, and layered textures with a distinctly vintage '70s-meets-Ralph Lauren sensibility. A curved walnut bar with green marble, antique bronze mirrors, custom wool rug, bespoke millwork by B&L Renovations, and thoughtfully layered lighting bring warmth and depth to the space, while a cozy lounge, built-in banquette, new bedroom, and full bath complete the lower level. The project reflects a growing shift toward whole-home renovations that unlock overlooked spaces while creating interiors that are deeply personal, timeless, and tailored to the people who live in them.
